Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Bhai Bela Jee was a Gursikh during the times of Guroo Gobind Singh Jee. He came to Guroo Jee and asked if he could stay at Anandpur Sahib. Guroo Jee consented so long as Bhai Bela agreed to partake in Seva. He was asked what form of Seva he wished to partake in, such as, langar seva, recite Bani or join the Guroo’s army and fight in the battlefield. Bhai Bela replied that he could not cook, read Gurbani or knew how to use shashtars. Thus Guroo Jee assigned Bhai Bela Jee the duty of looking after the horses and their stables. At the same time Bhai Bela Jee would be taught Gurbani by Guroo Jee. Guroo Jee started by teach…

The name of Bhai Langaha is mentioned among the famous Sikhs of the Guru period by Bhai Gurdas Ji in his // no. 11. He wrote "Chawdhari Langaha of the Dhillon clan lived in Patti and was a committed Sikh of the Gurus." Bhai Langaha lived in village Jhabal, about eight kilometers to the south of Amritsar. He was one of the three administrators of the Patti area yielding about 900,000 rupees of annual revenue to the government. He was the first person of the village to become a Sikh and helped other people to follow the faith. Earlier, Bhai Langaha was a disciple of the Pir Sakhi Sarvar. This sect was a first step for Hindus to be converted to Islam. The followers of…

WAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA WAHEGURU JI KI FATEH Guru Arjan Dev Ji on a tour of his visited a village called Khanpur between Goindwal and the present Tarn Taran. He was accompanied by five sikhs, including bidhi chand and Gurdas. He remained the whole day enganged in his devotions. In the evening it rained heavily and wintry winds were blowing. Bidhi Chand said to Guru Ji, 'That lofty house which you can see in the village is very near. Let us go and rest there for the night.' Guru Ji objected, and said it would be better to remain where they were than associate with the evil people who dwelt there. Bidhi Chand however, prevailed on him to let him go into the village and…

Posted on behalf of Rajinder aka Akal purakh di fauj :TH: Bhai Bidhi Chand was born to Bhai Wasan, who lived at village Sur Singh. His mother belonged to Sarhali, a famous village in Amritsar District. During his early days, Bhai Bidhi Chand got into the wrong company and became a dacoit. Bhai Adli, a Sikh since the days of Guru Ram Das, met him. Influenced by his good behavior, Bhai Bidhi Chand accompanied him to visit Amritsar. When he went before Guru Arjan Dev, he confessed openly that he was a dacoit by profession. The Guru advised him to earn his living honestly. His mind was changed then and there. After the murder of Guru Arjan Dev, his son Guru Har Go…

Once there was a little boy who wanted his dad to teach him how to play catch. One sunny day the little boy's father was sitting on the couch, drinking a beer, while watching a baseball game. The boy rushed into the house exclaiming "Daddy, daddy, daddy, show me how to play catch!" The father, blankly starring at the television screen, replied " In a little while son, let me finish watching this inning, come back in five minutes." "Okay daddy" said the boy and ran out of the room. Five minutes later the boy returned screaming "Daddy, let's go, let's play some catch now!" The father turned to the boy and said hold on son the inning is not quite over come back in five…

Living the Life... I received Amrit, not because I understood the Sikh way, but because I wanted to understand the Sikh way. I realised that true understanding of Sikhi can come only if I submit to the way of Satguru Nanak. After having spent significant time reading and listening what worldly gurus—scholars and academics of Sikhism—had to say about Sikhi, I realised the only way to truly sikh (learn), and change myself was to become a Sikh. This meant that I had to make a commitment to the Guru and receive Amrit. Amrit, for me, was the first step and a product only of my desire to change. I was reluctant for a long time because I knew that this commitment would require …

Or a GurSikh or a Gurmukh? Or do you like to add Khalsa to your name? In short, Manmukh : is one who has no interest in God just himself. Sikh : believes in God and Gurus, but lacks solid commitment GurSikh : makes a commitment to the Guru eg getting initiated or coming under guidance of a Sant and practising whatever gurbani sa…

WAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA WAHEGURU JI KI FATEH I love this sakhi sangat ji, its amazing  DHAN DHAN SATGURU SRI GURU GOBIND SINGH JI MAHARAJ  One Jagga Singh performed most assiduous service for Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj and was consequently much envied by his fellow servants. Some said that several men and women had done similar service and gone away ungrateful, and Jagga Singh was not superior to any of his predecessors. Others said that he being a new servant was no doubt diligent, but his zeal would soon evaporate. All knowing Satguru Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji knew what was being said about his beloved Jagga Singh so he sent for a vessel of water, a st…

WAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA WAHEGURU JI KI FATEH Guru Nanak Dev reached Sialkot, now in Pakistan, on one of his preaching missions. The people who came to see him told him that they were greatly worried about themselves and their city. The Guru asked the reason for that. They said that a Muslim mystic named Hamza Gaus had gone on a 40-day meditation to destroy the city and its residents. This was because he was angry with the behavior of one person. He made a decision to use his powers to make the whole city sink into the earth and make it vanish forever. Guru Nanak Dev assured them that no harm would come to them. They should go and get busy with their jobs and always …
